Morphology Influence on Wettability and Wetting Dynamics of ZnO Nanostructure Arrays

Abstract Changes in nanostructure morphology and size may result very different surface wettability. In this research, the impact of morphological parameters on wetting dynamics ZnO nanostructured layers is studied. Six morphologies are chosen to determine specific processes nanostructures: nanoneedles, small diameter rods, large nanotubes, nanoplates, plain thin films. Wetting investigated using conventional sessile drop technique a novel approach based electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results show that films exhibits both hydrophilic hydrophobic behaviour, depending form, size, orientation. arrays promising platform for optical sensing aqueous solutions. full effective use sensor working can be ensured only under condition complete layer. Therefore, it important take into account peculiarities process nanostructures.
